A form of exercise, based on the teachings of Joseph Pilates (1880-1967), redesigned for rehabilitation after musculoskeletal injuries. It focuses on body mechanics, posture, and strengthening of the core (back and abdominal) muscles.

[Thésaurus Mesh]Techniques d'exercices physiquesRésumé : Dans ce TFE, je me suis intéressée, en tant qu'ergothérapeute, aux besoins des enfants polyhandicapés et de leur environnement familial. Je me suis alors demandé si le concept de Veronica Sherborne pouvait avoir un impact dans la relation entre l'enfant et ses parents. Celui-ci a pour objectif d'aider les enfants à entrer en relation en leur offrant des stimuli de toutes sortes afin d'améliorer leur bien-être. J'ai alors mis en place des sessions de mouvements hebdomadaires où étaient conviés les 4 parents avec leur enfant. La réalisation d'une grille d'observation m'a permis d'analyser les résultats de la prise en charge : les enfants, par des expériences de mouvement et par le contact avec les autres, prennent confiance et s'ouvrent progressivement aux autres; La présence de leur parent favorise cette atmosphère affective et sécurisante.
