Résumé : | Dropout rates are most often discussed in connection with the mass marketed moulded lens industry, with practices generally having to recruit new wearers to replace the 25-30 % users that drop out their wearer base each year. The biggest reason given by patients for ceasing wear is dryness and/or discomfort -although patients very often confuse the two. This "churn" of customers has been part and parcel of the moulded lens market since its beginning, yet may offer opportunities for those speciality manufacturers who can present suitable remedies for exaspered practictioners grappling with the problem. |
